Hi, my name is Crystal Wiley. I am Myesha’s mommy! Welcome to my About Me page!
July 17, 2015 my daughter, Myesha Raven-Symone Reed, died from undiagnosed MRSA after ankle surgery. She was only 18. I had no idea that the few short days leading up to her unexpected death would be the beginning of the rest of my surreal and indescribable life. Or so I thought. Myesha died on a Friday and so a week after her death I had to come up with a way not to hate “that day”. TGIF was no longer in my vocabulary. So began my journey and commitment of a year of blogs that were originally published on Facebook that would quickly become my outlet of raw emotions and an outpouring of support from others who found my thoughts and feelings to be much like their own, but yet they were unable to express in it words the way I did.
I am a business owner, a Zumba Fitness instructor, a retired Girl Scout troop leader of 13 years, but most importantly I am a mother of 3 bright, accomplished children. Myesha, Chloe and Corban are my world. I have always taught my children through example that if you can find a way to give back to others and change the life of just one person, you will have gained the world. Now with this journey of grief that we have gone through, I hope that my very personal story of heartache and pain can reach those who have also suffered some type of grief, be it death, divorce, career changes, or just life in general, and give hope that life does go on.
